At Oracle's request, Spider will initiate the background check process for an applicant by contacting references provided by an applicant and asking for feedback on the applicant's current and/or past employment. I went through the same process as you for my current government job and all background checks and references were checked by a 3rd party company. I applied for a correction officer postion for the state of Maryland a few months ago, gave them my resume, took my background and finger printing.everything was going were calling my refference and got to my current job after asking them my dates of hire I received a letter saying I was denied the I have no bad background not a felons,so after doing some research I found that my current employer gave my wrong dates of hiresee I work for this company before and quite for another job until 2004 then return and been there sence I'm putting all my my job history on my resume, application and all and it's not checking out and I found out why today.i spoke to the hr lady today and she informs me the the only record they have of me working there is 2004 till present on there computer then she looks in my file and there it is every day, week, month and year I work as I'm putting all the time I work there on my resume and apps,my current employer is basically saying I'm wrong causing me to loss any chance of probably working a state job anyone no what steps I can take to possibly suie this company for giving false information??? Plus most employers I've interviewed with give you the option to not have your current employer contacted in a background check - this is to maintain confidentiality so your company does not know you are looking around - another reason your sister should stay in her current job and keep looking rather than quitting.

I have provided authorization for a full background check, a reference to a colleague in a leadership position at my current employer, and references to previous direct supervisors. At my company (I'm a recruiter, fortune 500 global company) they won't contact your current employer until you say they can, but they also won't try until you're in the background check process after you've accepted the offer. It will in no way hinder your current job, employers who do background checks generally pull your credit report and call older employers.

In general, criminal background checks for prospective or current employees must comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), as well as federal laws prohibiting discrimination. By Lester Rosen, Employment Screening Resources (ESR) President In a recent blog on ‘Background Checks: Trends and Legal Issues' on HR Toolbox by background check expert and Attorney at Law Lester Rosen, the verdict on whether or not the advantages of periodic background checks of current employees outweigh the disadvantages is: the jury.. A background check on a current employee can provide valuable information that can help an employer make important decisions that will affect the whole company, such as whether to retain, promote, or terminate staff.

Bluf: the company for background check wants to contact my current employer before officialising the offer. When I go through one of those background checks when interviewing for a new company, I never allow them to contact the current employer. Years later, I saw a result of that background check, and it was noted that the company could only verify I was a current employee in good standing, with X position, for Y pay rate, for Z time.

What I do in addition to the Income Verification, Credit Check, Eviction and Criminal Background checks is to ask for at least the 3 most recent Bank Statements of the Account that the prospective tenants had paid their current Landlord. At Oracle's request, the vendor will initiate the background check process for an applicant by verifying the applicant's current and/or past employment, education and criminal information, where allowed by local legislation. In a recent blog on ‘Background Checks: Trends and Legal Issues' on HR Toolbox by background check expert and Attorney at Law Lester Rosen, the verdict on whether or not the advantages of periodic background checks of current employees outweigh the disadvantages is: the jury is still out..
